Caring for your beautiful pleated skirt

This fabric boasts a super soft, flowing texture and a smooth finish, ensuring both comfort and style. To maintain the pristine appearance and longevity of your pleated skirt, please follow these care instructions:

Washing

Hand Wash or Machine Wash: Polyester is generally machine washable. You can either hand wash it or use a washing machine. Select a gentle cycle.

Machine Washing:

• Use Cold Water: Set the washing machine to a cold or cool water temperature. Hot water can damage the pleats.
• Mild Detergent: Use a mild detergent to protect the fabric's colour and quality.
• Turn Inside Out: To protect the pleats and the surface of the skirt, turn it inside out before placing it in the machine.
• Use a Laundry Bag: Placing the skirt inside a mesh laundry bag can further prevent damage.
• Avoid Overloading: Don't overload the machine to ensure the skirt has enough room to move freely.

Hand Washing:

• Fill a Basin: Fill a basin or sink with cold water and add a small amount of mild detergent.
• Submerge and Swirl: Submerge the skirt in the water and gently swirl it around. Avoid excessive scrubbing.
• Rinse Thoroughly: Rinse the skirt with cold water until all detergent is removed.

Drying:

• Do Not Wring: Never wring out the pleated skirt, as this can damage the pleats. Instead, gently press the excess water out by pressing it between clean, dry towels.
• Hang or Lay Flat: Hang the skirt by the waistband or lay it flat on a clean, dry towel to air dry. Ensure it's in its natural shape, so the pleats remain intact.
• Avoid Direct Sunlight: Don't expose the skirt to direct sunlight for prolonged periods, as it can lead to colour fading.

Ironing:

• Low Heat: If the pleats become flattened after washing, use a low heat setting on your iron (synthetic or polyester setting) to gently steam or press the pleats back into place. Ensure the skirt is dry before ironing.
• Use a Cloth: To avoid direct contact between the iron and the skirt, place a clean cloth or pressing cloth over the pleats while ironing.
