Our Story
Our foundation
From London markets to Melbourne design studio — the story of a family brand built on colour and craft.
Today Olga de Polga remains family owned and operated, with Olga leading the business alongside her son and a small Melbourne-based team. Our garments are developed with trusted manufacturing partners in South Korea, combining thoughtful design with high-quality natural fibres.
Design, Craft & Materials
Every Olga de Polga collection begins with Olga’s creative process. Inspired by travel, vintage clothing and everyday life, she develops print and garment concepts that form the foundation of each season’s collection, working closely with designers and production specialists in South Korea to bring them to life.
We collaborate with our long-standing manufacturing partners in Seoul, South Korea to refine fabrics and garments through careful sampling and development, ensuring the quality our customers expect.
We prioritise natural and regenerative fibres wherever possible, including cotton, wool and plant-based materials such as viscose and rayon — creating clothing designed to be worn and loved for years.
Our Journey
Olga de Polga began in the vibrant markets of Portobello Road in London, where Olga first started selling clothing and developing her eye for colour, vintage inspiration and distinctive style.
From those early market days, the brand grew into a wholesale business, with Olga showing collections at trade fairs and selling to boutiques across Europe. When the Global Financial Crisis reshaped the retail landscape, Olga returned home to Australia and began the next chapter of the brand.
Starting again in Melbourne, she opened a store on Chapel Street and rebuilt Olga de Polga from the ground up. Today the brand continues to grow from its Melbourne base, with collections available through our flagship Fitzroy store, online, and through more than 40 independent boutiques across Australia and New Zealand.
