Care Instructions for Your Polyester Pleated Skirt

Machine Washing:

1. Turn your skirt inside out to protect the pleats
2. Place it in a laundry bag or pillowcase to prevent snagging
3. Use a gentle cycle with cold water
4. Wash your skirt with similar colours to avoid colour bleeding
5. Avoid washing it with garments that have sharp zippers or hooks that could damage the fabric

 

Hand Washing:

1. Fill a basin with cold water
2. Add a mild detergent and mix it gently
3. Submerge your skirt and gently agitate the water. Do not wring or rub vigorously
4. Rinse thoroughly with cold water until all detergent is removed

 

Drying:

1. After washing, gently reshape the pleats to their original form
2. Lay the skirt flat on a clean, dry towel to remove excess water
3. Avoid wringing out the fabric, as it can distort the pleats
4. Hang your skirt on a padded hanger in a shaded area to air dry. Avoid direct sunlight, as it may cause colour fading
5. Ensure the skirt is completely dry before storing to prevent mildew

 

Ironing:

1. You shouldn't need to iron your skirt, but if you would like to, use a low to medium heat setting on your iron
2. To preserve the pleats, it's best to use a steamer. If using an iron, steam the skirt gently while it's hanging
3. If ironing directly, do it on the reverse side or place a cloth between the iron and the skirt to prevent shine or damage to the pleats

 

Storage:

1. Store your skirt in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight
2. To maintain the pleats' structure, hang it on a padded hanger or fold it neatly
3. Avoid overcrowding in your closet to allow for proper air circulation

 

Stain Removal:

1. Promptly treat stains with a mild detergent or stain remover
2. Test any cleaning products on an inconspicuous area before applying them to the stained area
3. Blot or gently dab the stain, avoiding vigorous rubbing to prevent damage to the fabric
